Hip vibe, decor, crowd. Convenience to meat district, west village, Chelsea.

Terrible music in Cafe Gitane and Jane lounge

Location, clean bathrooms, an AC in the room that worked well, comfortable mattresses and pillows, great staff service, free bikes, water in room, & the bottle of wine.

The incredibly small room for 2 people.

    Location was fine

On arrival I was allocated a room which didn't have a proper bed. It was a corner room with a 2/3 size bed. After a longhaul flight from England I could only accept. On pulling back the sheets I found huge bedbugs running over the bed. I collected a few and brought them to reception in a glass to show them. The new room they gave me was stinking of smoke but I was so tired to complain anymore that night. The next day there was a flood in the lobby and it was a bit like a pantomime watching a man with a cup trying to clear the flood . I have travelled round the world and stayed in all sorts of hotels but this was the WORST , filthiest hotel by a country mile .

No cheaper possibility to get to the airport from the hotel, other than the going taxi rate

The Jane Hotel is in an amazing location and was able to reach some of NY's coolest areas in no time by foot or by subway. I loved the design of the hotel and even though the rooms are tiny - they had all I really needed. The best thing about the hotel is the value for money - I literally could spend more on shopping because the hotel didn't charge for frills I didn't need. I will certainly come back again to this great hotel.

Very quirky hotel in Greenwich Village and very close to the Hudson which has a running and cycling path with great views of Liberty and Ellis Islands. Great staff at both front desk and cafe. Easy to get to city (10 minute walk to subway). If you don't mind sharing bathrooms and can survive in a small space (single cabins) then this hotel provides a great budget option.

Jane is in excellent location. Only a few minutes from the village. Staff were really great. Friendly and professional. Food in the restaurant was really good and very buzzy. Price fantastic. Would recommed only for a short stay due to room size.

I know that everyone had mentioned how small the rooms were, but they were still were smaller than I thought they were going to be. No wardrobes to hang anything and way too small for a stay of 5 nights. Single bed half the size of a regular bed. Also doors constantly banging so not a place to get a good rest especially after nights out partying in New York.

History - good to see a good concept maintained and brought up to date, staff, rooms - small but well designed, neighborhood

    Mattress was a bit tired

Great lcoation for hotel. The main areas, lounge, bar, dining, enetrance room are great and amazingly decorated. Little touhes, fresh water in room, towels, robes etc made a tiny room more comfortable.

The bunk cabin room was very very small, not much space to place two suitcases. But minor issue lets face it you are in New York and will not be spending much time in room

This hotel is great for a short visit in nyc! The location is perfect - right in the center of meat packing district with galeries, designer shops, delis + beautiful and cheap restaurants, bars + coffee houses in the neighbourhood + opposite the hotel is a bycicle road along Hudson River! The staff is superfriendly, the meals at the hotel restaurant is really good and not too expensive (the coffee was really good too!) + the rooms are small but comfortable + clean. The community shower/bathrooms were clean too + you could see that the cleaning ladies + men were doing a great job! I can totally recommend this hotel! Its also close to the subway. I really loved staying there!

There was nothing I didnt like. its a perfect not too expensive hotel

I knew of the hotel's limitations beforehand -- room size, shared baths, few amenities. I wanted a clean, quiet, convenient place to sleep because I was out-and-about all day. The Jane delivered on all those qualities. And the French cafe adjacent to the lobby served up terrific breakfasts. My stay was better than expected.

Good for the price, the rooms are really very small but clean. The bathrooms and restrooms as well ok.

Much better than expected. a 7x7 room is much larger in person. Very cozy. Bathrooms immaculate and very private despite their communal nature. Not a bad walk to the subway or the village. Very pleased overall. Especially the price. I've stayed at other hotels in this price range and none compare. Will make a point of staying here again!

Okay, the robes are very silly. I don't understand the point in robes ending above the crotch, but, hey, I wouldn't expect a robe in a $89 nyc hotel so no harm, no foul.
